Here are some rough/basic drafts of what is going to be in Old Union. It should give you an idea of what is in the building, how the building will be used, and, if you can see the furniture plans underneath, a bit of the style.
For the sake of simplicity, I call the basement of the Clubhouse (Native American Center) and the Nitery (El Centro) part of the "first floor" of the Old Union complex. Also, it took me many an hour to "enhance them using Adobe® Photoshop® software," so please accept my non-perfect yet hopefully light-hearted quality and labels.
Just to answer THE BIG QUESTION.....the building should be functional some time in June, with the different occupants moving in over the summer (waiting until after Commencement). Expect a GRAND OPENING in September as part of (or right after) New Student Orientation.

By "Union Director" does that mean "Old Union Director" or like, Labor Unions?
And what exactly falls in the "misc" category in the OSA space? Is it just the people involved with OSA who are now in that Tresidder space, or are there going to be even more administrators in the "student union"

I think we should name one of the meeting spaces after professor Fraga. Maybe we should name it after more professors that have made great contributions to the Stanford community.

Marisa,
Thanks for asking. I would love for at least the lounges of the main building to be accessible to students 24/7. It's a discussion that is ongoing. Expect a post about this soon.
Bernard,
It means the Director of Student Unions, Jeanette Smith-Laws and some support staff. The "etc." part is because not every part of that space has been defined yet, so I'm leaving it open for some change. I don't expect any more admins there besides OSA and Union Director, and associated staff. We may even see students and student leaders get to use a portion of that space, which would be a nice way to improv interaction with OSA and the Union Director.
Rebecca,
That's a really interesting idea. I think Prof. Fraga has had a lot of support in the student community, as have many wonderful professors. Naming rooms after them could be a wonderful way to recognize that. I'm sure other people have other ideas, but I hope you submit yours when the time comes.
