Recently, I was able to get a hold of some photos of Old Union, the Nitery, and the Clubhouse in progress. Eventually, I'll upload the whole lot to Flickr and share them here, but, for now, check out a few of my favorite shots:
(1st Floor - Old Union)
The "Living Room" from the front view of the main building. It's kind of odd without furniture but still quite beautiful. Once we get in there, we are going to all learn to love and hate those columns. They're everywhere.
(1st Floor - Old Union)

A massive countertop for use in the new eatery. I hear the food is the part of construction that is slated to take the longest, so it comes as no surprise that it looks not quite finished. Nevertheless, great potential.
ALWAYS CLICK FOR THE EXTENDED ENTRY! IT'S WORTH IT!

(1st Floor - Old Union)

A quaint courtyard. This, outside the ASSU/SSE offices, is one of two small courtyards I hope will become really great, usable spaces. This will be a nice rest spot for many students.
(Middle Floor - Clubhouse)

And Mr. Arrillaga said, "Let there be space!" My, oh my, is this space going to get used. The renovated and expanded Ballroom is absolutely gorgeous.
(Top Floor - Clubhouse)

The A3C. A sneak peak of one of the community centers. You can't see it here, but the renovated A3C also has access to a beautiful wraparound balcony.

I wouldn't be surprised if they considered it, given the amount of competition in the area. Still, I have not heard any substantive conversation about it, and I think there is a lot more to consider than just the financial viability of the space. So, as far as I know, no, there are no plans to shut down the CoHo. Of couse, things change, and rumors have an odd way of becoming truth. I'll let you know if that comes up.

Please do, as there are a lot of students who would like to (1) if the new eatery space is appropriate, work to transfer existing CoHo crowd and events to the new eatery ((PLEASE can we come up with a better name????)), or (2) fight hard to keep the CoHo etc. etc.

I remember a while back that keyless entry systems were considered (like what they've started doing when they renovate dorms). Did this go through for any part of Old Union?

Do you know if they're going to be offering more variety in choice of foods? It sucks to miss breakfast/brunch and have to eat Subway or Treehouse. Will they be including "a little bit of everything" for us students who don't have a car and can't commute off campus?
